Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, one of the daughters of musicians from Mexico, was born to an affluent family. While growing up, she listened to many traditional music as well as old boleros. She also listened to traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves singing tangos as well as operas. Additionally, she enjoys dramatic performances. Ana started learning how to sing and play instruments at an early age with her mother. She was given more formal vocal instruction at the age of 16 old under the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. Her musical education continued through the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. When she was a student, and a young professional, she sang with various chamber groups as well as opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. The year 2000 saw her move back to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2007, she settled in her current home in Southern California. She is currently performing the traditional Latin American songs at private concerts as a singer. The passion and love she has for the arts, music, and performing has her participating in a myriad of local activities as a teacher and performer. Ana has also been a former singer in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to be able to share with others her enthusiasm for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will inspire younger generations to help keep the music in the present.
