Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21 1982) is a well-known American actress. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of school when her parents divorced to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. In the following year, she was awarded a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder set in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress on Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace quit the show in the year 2005, to take on a more significant role in film, appearing alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. The actress starred on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. The actress reprised her character as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern adaptation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost, including the finale. In 2013 she appears in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith who's the star-gazer and a the girl in the group. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the daughter and older sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as a teenager as she was cast in minor roles in several films that her father directed. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 famous movie Donnie Darko. Later, she was on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, and Sherrybaby (a film) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006 including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). After her successful performance as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following years, she starred in comedies and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. The other roles she's played included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as her role as the Kindergarten Teacher. Gyllenhaal's debut as a director and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller for which she received an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
